The 2022 Adelyn Rea Memorial Scholarship Winner Molly Beacom-Timmerman
The 2022 Adelyn Rea Memorial Scholarship winner is Molly Beacom-Timmerman. Molly is a graduate of Osmond High School. At just a few months old Molly was taken by helicopter to UNMC where her parents were informed Molly was born with Taussig-Bing Syndrome, which caused several heart defects. During this time Molly was also sick with RSV so her needed heart surgery could not take place. On April 28th, Molly went into surgery to get her heart repaired and the repair took 14 hours. This took a toll on her body, and she was at Children's for around a month. As Molly grew, she had yearly checkups and at nine years old she had another heart surgery. In high school Molly worked at the Osmond swimming pool and during the school year she was involved in several activities including track and field, band, one-act, color guard, and FBLA. She was also a faithful and active member of the Immanual Lutheran Church. Molly plans to attend the University of South Dakota and major in nursing with a minor in chemistry, with a dream to become a nurse. Molly, we know your future is bright and wish you the best of luck!
